That's a reasonable post and I can understand your concerns. I think most sane/reasonable people saw some warning flags, so to speak.

The one thing I can't really get my head around is wrapping 08 and 09 together like we had the same results as in "trending down".

I never could see how increased wins in 09 from 08, being invited to a higher ranked bowl, going from 7th in the SEC to 3rd in the SEC, and going from no NR to being NR equated to the same trend.

Whatever the case, I think all LSU fans want another 10 win season, at least, another high profile bowl, and another Top 10 NR.

Oh, and another trip to the SECCG would welcomed as well.

From my perspective Lonnie, while 9-4 is better than 8-5 record-wise I saw many of the same things that concerned me from an overall organizational and leadership perspective, and seeing them two years in a row in my view constituted a troubling trend. Plus just an old fashioned eye-test for me, 2009 while record-wise many programs would be pleased that was about as ugly a 9-4 as I cared to see. I can remember very few highlight or endearing moments.

I can be more specific if you'd like to continue the discussion, but I didn't feel like we improved as a program from 2008 to 2009 despite the numbers you allude to.
