That makes sense because IIRC, you can only buy barley wine in half kegs. They wanted to capitalize on the name so they had to change the recipe maybe.

I'm just speculating of course.

You can buy barley wines. Stone Old Gaurdian is one I can come up with off the top of my head. I remember hearing a rumor that LA had an ABV limit on what can be bottled. Not sure if theylowered the abv on Andygator to allow bottling or if the law was changed...or if it was even true?
