Just saw this on IMDB.
Had no idea they were doing this movie and at first I was a bit irritated because the 1982 version is one of my favorite movies of all time.
However, it appears this will be a prequel with events taking place in the Norwegian camp.
I really hope they don't screw this up.

I'll stay cautiously optomistic about this. John Carpenter's version is one of my favorites too so hopefully they don't screw this up. Maybe they should have consulted Carpenter.

The original is possibly my favorite black and white horror movie.
Carpenter's 1982 version is sooooo fricking suspenseful and is one of the best horror movies of all time.
I'm really hoping that this could quite possibly be the first story in history that has 3 very unique and quality treatments.

True. The first two House of Wax's were very good, but I didn't get a chance to see the new one.

+10000 I saw it for the first time a couple weeks ago and loved it. It now has a place in my top ten.

Will probably be ruined by CGI "Thing" effects, as will "Rise of the Planet of the Apes."
Can't stomach that CGI garbage.
