Can anyone give me some tips on how to effectively run a 3-4 defense on NCAA?
TIA

The only way I have ever run this defense effectively is against the computer, shooting the gaps with the middle linebackers. The way the game is created, the 34 is at a disadvantage because the NT only occupies one blocker. In real life, someone like Vince Wilfork or Haloti Ngata, or even Mount Cody in college demanded a double team, and thats the reason the entire defense works.

effective way:
3-3-5 is what I typically use but same concept on a 3-4 if I run it is:
Send at least two backers typically on the same gap. Overloads a gap and one will go free or get picked up by a RB.
Sending two corners is effective as well. Play Press Coverage when doing this to give them a little jump. Spread your backers too to help with coverage. I like to pinch the line when I do that too to help against a run.

I like that alot, we ran a 3-3-5 at my school I played at and with EA fixing the zone defense on this years game it appears that th 3-3-5 is a legitimate defense

All or nothing, either sit back dropping 8 on cover 3 zone, or blitz 6 in man.

Off topic but not deserving its own thread.
WHY THE frick CAN EA NOT GET THE SCREEN PASS CORRECT? It's frustrating. You can't run a screen pass out of a non shotgun formation against what it is designed to counteract, the blitz. Qb gets sacked every time. I've also only been able to complete one bubble screen this year. Numerous bubbles have skipped out of bounds or hit the receiver dead in the fricking face

I won't even try under gun. From the shotgun, they work well, along with the bubble screens, but yea, under center you have no shot.
WR screens annoy me too. They work here and there, but if the D is in man, the slot WR will rarely go out and block the WR guarding the intended WR. So annoying.
