infuriating game. field was complete horse shite. playing it in a swamp wouldve been a better idea. we played like shite. still almost won.

The field was very crappy! I agree.
That is probably one of the worse rainy day football fields I have ever seen. I know it was a torrantial downpour but wow. It was terrible conditions for football. No wonder we lost!
That and the fact that the Penn State players just sat on the football in the end of the game...cheaters!

I walked on the field, it was much worse than it looked even.
What a shitty upkeep of a field.

They should not be showing this game even if they have ESPN Classic 47

this.
and i believe that was the 5th game in three days there at the stadium. They tried to resod it or something for the LSU game and we saw how that worked out. That was not even fit for a Pee Wee game.

Y'all can bash me all you want...i don't care what anyone says. We play that game on turf or at the very least a decent field we win by two touchdowns.
When your kick returner, who ways all of 145 lbs, plants his foot and sinks 6 inches...somethings wrong.

the D is playing great. 4 drives starting in LSU territory- only given up 6 points

and it never took. A major college football game should NEVER have been played on this field!
I remember turning on the Cotton Bowl a day or two later and thinking...WOW, if only we could have played in this "lesser" bowl

on a more positive note...that was a strike JJ threw to lafell on the 24 yd TD at the end of the 3rd

From what I remember reading, there was contention among the local authorities about spending money to FieldTurf the field.
It had come down to one guy's decision to play 27 games in three days (or whatever it was) and then pile some grass on there and give it a go.
I can GUARANTEE that guy was getting some cash from the FieldTurf people.
I'm sure he was at the next council meeting.... "See, we NEED Field Turf!!!"
Embarrassing.

Why doesn't ESPN ever show on of LSU's good classic games. It always seems to be one where the Tigers get beat. I'd love to see last years Cotton Bowl or either of the Championships games again.

cuz they hate us.
I love CSS for LSU replays, esp. when they got the other school's homer broadcasters doing it and we win in the last minute. just deflates em and you can hear it in their voices (see UT 06 or Bama 07)

I was there, it was terrible. They had just had all the florida state championship games played there and I think the citrus bowl or something. I'm pretty sure they got turf the next year

i was there too. was hardly a torrential downpour. was a pretty light rain during the game and sometimes wasnt raining at all. just had been raining pretty solid that whole night. if you watched the champs sports bowl a few nights before those teams had the same problems and it hadnt rained at all. just a shitty re-turf job i suppose.

Right before game warmups was a pretty heavy rain; remember a PS fan next in line to me commented he wished we were in a dome! Yeah, rain let up then got pretty chilly 2nd half! Couldn't pay me to watch this fiasco again!
