which offense will be higher ranked* at the end of the season? an offense returning almost everyone but a new offensive coordinator, or an offense that will be completely revamped from a personnel standpoint, but will return the OC whos a mad scientist

*you can use either points per game or yards per game if you think there will be a difference.

i will be surprised if we out-produce auburn in any major offensive category.

Since you didn't define "better" I am going to say AU because until I see LSU have some resemblance of an offensive identity beside horrible, I have ZERO faith in them.

Statistics do not measure "better" IMO. Why?
When I think about O it is not about final season ranking. it is about Better for this team. For example, a ball control offense that doesn't score that many points, may not be ranked as high as a very dynamic offense like AU had last year, BUT could still beat a team like AU had last year as LSU had the opportunity to do with 3 minutes left in the game the score was tied as I recall.
Ball control with a very good scoring defense may be better than a #2 Offense with an average defense.

this is laughable. youre over thinking the question. our offense may have been "ball control," but it was still horrible by most counts. if you think that any team not from nebraska in the last 40 years ever went into a season thinking, if we go 8 straight regular season games without our starting QB throwing a TD, we'll be ok, you are a ratard

if our offense could move the ball at all, we would have boat raced auburn and they would not have run for 400+ yards against us

Really? go look at 2003 stats if you don't believe me. It is about offensive effiency and not all about numbers.

Georgia tech does it every year.

ALWAYS about effiency. Give me a top 30 Offense with this team we have and a QB wqith a 110 rating and we win the NC BOTH LAST YEAR AND THIS ONE! it is that simple.
We won 11 games last year with the worse QB in the country.

What? Do people not read? Auburn lost their whole OL, and are breaking in a new QB.

Chizik wouldn't have recruited Russell Wilson as hard as he did if he complete faith in his returning QB's.

LSU's will be the better offense in 2011. Book it.

because they won the NC last year and as bad as they were in 2009 they were better than us.

We have ZERO faith in our QB.
NOw -We are also breaking in a New OC. Why should our team be better if we have a new OC and he is dumming down the O for JJ AGAIN this season.
You asked if we would be better than AU. The answer is NO.
I said, if we are more effecient than AU, run the ball, and not "lose" the game with our QB, our offense can win us a NC if it finishes in the top 30.In Fact we would have won one last year had we been in the top 20.
I am NOT talking about a top 10 offense.

Auburn.

With that said, you pimp slap them to the tune of 31-17 or so in the actual game.

I am gonna go with AU because they are made to score a ton of points on shitty teams.

I don't think they can have anywhere near the success they had this year with out Cam Newton. IDK if it was Newton or the system, or both, but we raped them in 2009, and even then they had a highly ranked offense.

oh, i completely agree. but the 2010 LSU offense was not efficient at all.

matt mauck had 28 TD passes in 03. 2010 JJ: 7

...against who? LSU won that game 31-10.

More JJ bagging is getting old.

Simple answer is, we added by by subtracting Crowton, and we have more starters back.

LSU.

LSU.

Thse comment was based on offensive stats/ranking. Not on who won the game. There is a difference.
We nearly won last year, but we gave up 500+ yards of offense.
As far as JJ bagging as you put it, let him prove us wrong.
I commented about Crowton during the 2009 season and offseason and was CRUCIFIED on here. Now all of a sudden it is Crowton's fault by everyone because we have a new OC.
Do you think Crowton "dummied down" the offense last year? YES. He and Les both said so.
What did Krag say? He will "simplify" the offense, but run the same plays i.e. dummy it down.
LSU has the same two things going for them they did last year.
1 a strong Defense
2. a good running game.
IF JJ doesn't lose the game, i.e. we are effecient on offense, we will contend for a NC. it is really simple. Just take the keys and keep the car between the lines.

My comment was based on schedule, not just against us. I suppose I could have worded it better though.

My take on this is simple...without Cam, and without last year's veteran OL, there is no way Eau Barn's offense ranks as high as the 2011 LSU offense.
