I live in Omaha. I went to the game Sunday afternoon. On the plus side, parking is pretty decent, access is pretty easy if you don't mind walking. Creighton University has some student lots where you can park for $5-10, maybe 6-12 blocks away from the stadium. No tailgating though. I hear there are tailgating places to the North of the stadium, pretty limited and in a sketchy area of town. The tents are around, but scattered on all sides, not like walking down 13th Street used to be. The park itself has more leg room, bigger restrooms, etc.
BUT the character of the CWS is gone, totally gone. Part of that is that we miss you, LSU! We hope when you return, you'll bring the party with you! Omaha totally has a soft spot for LSU fans.
The new park is just a park. It's just baseball, not an event anymore. It's hotter than the gates to hell sitting down in the ground, surrounded by concrete. And I miss the stand where you could buy curly fries and onion blossoms! I have little interest in going to any more games, this is the first year my family hasn't gone to at least half of them in many years.
Old Market people are bemoaning that business isn't what was expected. Well, at Rosenblatt, everyone had to drive somewhere after the game. This new stadium is surrounded by hotels and restaurants. No reason to go to the Market and spend $8 to just park, and then buy their overpriced food/drinks!
I am so sorry, I apologize in advance to you in Tiger Territory, I think you are gonna be disappointed. Hope to see you next year!

Thanks for that report. I think that's what many of us were afraid was going to happen.

I agree with all of his/her comments. I was at the game on Sunday afternoon as well. This is my 9th CWS and I have been to about 30 games. The only thing I will say is that I parked in Lot D and there were plenty of tailgaters in there.
However, other than that, the atmosphere from Rosenblatt was missing bigtime for me. It's not that anything was "bad" but there is no uniqueness to the stadium. And for some reason it was hot as hell. I was disappointed but I'm sure I/we will get used to it.
