10/22 is nice and cheap but no different than the AR. Magazine in and pull the trigger until the mag is empty. One round is bigger than the other and one is a bit cheaper. Other than that buy what you want to learn and enjoy.

5. Can be shot in more places due to low caliber.

7. .22 is better for learning long gun basics than anything.
