If Gene Smith covered anything up, he should be fired.

I don't care if he gets fired or not, but from all we know he learned of the cover-up from Jim Tressel and then it was self reported. Smith proceeds to basically fire Tressel.

What more should he have done?

Here's my thoughts on Pryor from an earlier thread:

quote:

People single Pryor out for two reasons:

1) He's the most visible player on the team. From his recruitment to being the "star qb" with Heisman talks, he is the current face of OSU football. That's what HE wants. The way he carries himself, the decisions he makes put him in that position. You have to take the good with the bad when in the spotlight. It's not all just winning football games.

2) He continually does stupid things. Whether its claiming that "everybody kills everybody" or he has a new car to "test drive" every week or is getting caught up in the middle of a drug trafficker, there is a pattern of him putting himself in bad situations. He clearly has no respect for the University or even his teammates IMO. In the NFL they call these people "cancer" and its an adequate term here.

You reach the age of reason at 7 years old or so. Pryor knows what he did was wrong. He still did it. He deserves any backlash that he gets. And did anyone here see the car Pryor is driving. More fuel for the fire.
