It is obvious that the young man has issues in regards to self-entitlement and maturity but this commentators and analyst seem to forget that he is just still just a kid. IMO, not enough flack is being placed on Tressell and Gene Smith (who should lose his job as well, because it all happened under his adminstration).

Pyror had his offenses, and will take the blunt of the blame because he is the QB. But 28 other players were routinely doing the same things as he was. This is more of an stain on the crook Tressell is. He's an adult, he knows better. Or at least he should.

We tend to have a habit of bashing down these prep mega stars that we build up. IF someone has been telling you you are the best player alive since you were 8 years old, its not far fetched to think that at 20/21, that the young man would be a little selfish and conceited.

These college coaches are not going punished enough. Many of them are lying, self absorbed crooks that ONLY care about winning, and say all the other bullshite about integrity and committment as icing on the cake. Tressell isn't the only one.

The fact that Tressell could run away to the NFL NEXTseason, and get a position coaching job if he wanted to, and make $100k+, but then tOSU could end up losing millions for the next 5-10 years, is baffling and alarming to me. Kelvin Sampson blew up two programs (OK and IU), went to the NBA, and has had at least 2 head coaching job interviews within the last 3 years.

Programs get destroyed, players are harshly criticized, and these millionair crooks run away and make millions lying and cheating their way to the top.

I'm not condoning what Pyror did because it was still immature and selfish, but these coaches don't get enough of a hard wrap. When are schools going to put clauses in contracts that demand a certain % of a salary back if a coach committes serious/grave NCAA infractions/violations ?

All the NCAA does is punish the players that had nothing to do with the workings of these crooks. Until the NCAA comes down harder on the coaches, players will continued to get screwed for doing things that young adults do; frick up.

this is purely a rant that will not be proofread. I'm just digusted at what we see. Grown men attacking little kids.

Dude Tressel is being dragged through the mud.

You want the fame and recognition, this is part of it.

21 or 22 doesn't equal little kid.
I don't agree with bashing but he is old enough to know right from wrong and now it's time to deal with his consequences.

Tressel is losing 4 million+ a year, AND he had an OSU Ad position lined up in his contract for basically life. A total cake job, as well as many perks like a sky box for life at Ohio Stadium among many other things.

Don't tell me he wasn't punished.

Pryor is going to run off to the NFL next year as well...?

Dari Nowkhah is filling in on Doug Gottlieb's show and making this exact point. Apparently, a lot of tOSU fanbase is saying Tressel did next to nothing wrong, it's just that he coaches a bunch of idiots.

Dari opened the show reading tweets to what is supposedly Pryor's Twitter account and it was absolutely

who cares, it comes with the territory. If you are in the spotlight, you will be built up and torn down. Cash in on it while you can. If this stuff bothers Terrelle, he could always quit football and work a 8-5 job, no one will bother him then

My only problem is while he is the face of the scandal he definitely wasn't the only OSU player breaking the rules, yet it is all being blamed on him.

FWIW, I don't blame TP at all for Tress getting fired. I honestly don't. None.

He is still a complete moron. He still brings absolutely horrible publicity to the school. He clearly doesn't care at all about his actions and has no self-awareness. And I hope he never plays another down for OSU.

good point, pryor gets held to a higher standard bc he's close to heisman worthy, team captain, 2 time bcs bowl mvp, but still a kid. but they are trying to get harsher penalties until they decide to stop.

as for tressel, he got in trouble for not reporting the infractions to the ncaa. HE HANDLED IT HIMSELF!!!! tell me, if your kid comes home late one night drunk or high, are you going to call the cops on them? no, you are going to beat their arse. That's all he did on some of these cases.

All 3 should never be able to work/play for OSU again

Aren't most college athletes 18 or older? that's adult in every state in the united states!

That applies to Terrelle Pryor too. It doesn't matter if he's been told he's god's gift to man. he should have known better. To say he's used to getting everything is an excuse that lots of people could use to justify horrible behavior.

Wait a minuute, when does a kid become a man? We give 18 year old certain privileges as being adults. With those privileges come responsibilities, and accountability. Terrelle Prior took advantage of the privileges, and he ignored the resposibilites. For that he is being held accountable. That is exactly how the system is supposed to work.

Tressell, for certain, and Smith possibly, aided Pryor in abusing the privileges according to recently released information with respect to the favorable use of vehicles. Tressell compouded that by failing to force Pryor to take responsibility for his infractions as well as failing to hold him accountable for the infractions. Now Tressell is being held accountable for failing in his responsibility.

If Ohio State had enforced accountability from the ground up, as it should have, it wouldn't be getting it from the top down by the NCAA and public opinion.

I don't have any problems with TP. He is no different than any number of high profile college athletes (and that goes for a few who have come through LSU as well).
