I had respect for aTm before we played them last year. We were in the endzone "mixed" section. We were sitting by some of the Aggie players families. The Aggie fans were so obnoxious and ghey that even some of their players families members were making fun of them. Aggie can't seem to grasp that they are third best (sometimes second) best team in Texas.

We have scoreboard over all Texas football teams.

BASC, out of curiosity, what were the fans doing that was ghey to make you lose respect for A&M and cause ridicule from players families?

Ags love our big backs. Jorvorskie Lane played close to 300lbs and was our all-time TD leader.

How is that relevant?

As a school we have a history of big backs.

In the 2010 class we signed a 4 star 6'2 RB from Colorado that everybody thought would be a LB but he's still at RB.

Sherman likes backs to compliment each other. We will possibly lose Gray and Michael after this year and it's thought that Bourque and Williams can step in next year and be our 2 starting backs

It's relevant because we're recruiting a tall dude with a frame to get bigger to play running back for us. Jorvorskie had a knack for trucking defenders and getting into the end zone. Successful big backs get an instant cult-following amongst Aggie football fans, 'cause we love punishing RBs.

Do you think that everyone that's 6'3" and 200lbs should play WR? Or is it possible that talent for a position should come into play when coaches are evaluating players? If I had your head coaches # I'd have you call him to inquire. It's not my job to justify a coach's reasoning for recruiting players to specific positions, but hopefully that answers your question?

Lane and Bourque shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence, that is the point. Bourque isn't a "punishing RB" by any stretch of the imagination.

Okay here it goes.. This is how this entire wr situation started.. I've known Bourque's dad for some years and the first rumor we will get straight is Davante' wants to play runningback and that has nothing to do with his dad.. I was at Lsu the day Davante' got offered.. But it goes a little further back.. Spoke to his dad today and this is what happened when Davante's profile was made by rivals or scout he was listed as a wr, that really had him like why are they listing me as a wr, i'm a rb... Bourque has been on Lsu's radar since his freshman season where he was named class 1A ALL STATE retrurn specialist.. Then as a sophomore he started as rb in class 1A where he rushed for 1800 yards 36 td's /26 two pt conversions.. he led the state in scoring in all classifications that season and was named class 1A MVP.. Then the talk started that he couldn't produce he was just a small school player.. Bourque then transfers to class 3A crowley and rush for 2300 yards and 40 td's.. Bourque did say it's okay with me that they want me to play wr, but later thought about it and said i wanna play rb and told that to les miles and the coaching staff. there were people on message boards saying he would never get a D-1 offer and Davante' just kept working hard and getting things done.. He has a dream of playing RB in college that's it.. By the way I'm a die hard LSU fan and i want Bourque in the purple and gold....

why the hell would he want to switch to WR?

Because he is 6'2" or 3".

Weeks later they finally offer him as a running back, AND tell him he's their only running back prospect? What happened here, folks?

We really aren't recruiting many RBs. In fact, we have offered maybe 3 other than Borque (Trey Williams, Brian Kimbrow, and the kid from Alabama). None of those guys are coming to LSU.

LSU has a lot of young running backs. We don't need one. That probably contributed to us thinking of Borque as a WR.

But with an athlete like Borque, I think you need to give him a shot at RB if that is what he wants.

maybe the jeremy hill situation has more clarity and it's looking like he won't be a tiger.

maybe magee's draft prospects are looking higher and higher every day.

that class of 2/3 from 2011 could shrink to just 1 and would make RB is semi-priority for 2012.

Why do you guys keep calling Borque a "big" back?

He isn't "big," he is tall. 200 lbs. is not big for a RB.

he's in high school and at 6'2''/ 200 lbs with his frame they can add muscle to him.. this is why people on message boards and coaches call him a big back...

Forgot about him. Yes, I wonder what his deal is.

Hmmmm....first I've heard mentioned the possibility that Magee won't suit up for the Tigers next year.

"Semi" is the key word, so I agree. I am sure you know, but we have 3 SOs and 3 FR going into this year. We also have the full range of types - from bigger backs like Hilliard and Ware, to your slashers like Ford and Blue, to receiving threats like Gore and Magee.

I could be way off base here, but judging by the three (now four) backs we have offered, it seems like Frank Wilson wants to use his one RB scholarship to find a guy with speed.

Clearly, Kimbrow fits that bill and might be the fastest RB in this class (in the whole country). I think if Kimbrow wants in we take him. But he won't come here.

He has a big frame. Collegiate dietary and weight programs can put pounds on a guy, and I anticipate that being the goal for him. In relation to Trey Williams Bourque will be a big back and will bring balance to our rushing attack. Sherman recruits guys to bring specific threats to our offense and that's where Bourque would fit into ours.

I don't consider 225 lbs. to be "big" for a RB either. That is normal.

Also, have you guys considered the possibility that this guy might end up being 6'4"?

You are missing the point. The point is that maybe Borque should think a little more critically about his future as a RB.

Personally, I want him to go to LSU. I think he is probably the best athlete in the state. I think we should give him a shot at RB, but if he outgrows the position we should change it. And Borque should be willing to accept that if it happens. It would be in his best interests after all.

maybe you should go to tiger sports digest and read the article... that's what miles and davante' talked about.. that's the only way he wouldn't play rb, only if he outgrew the position..
