Shooting Guard from CofC, can LIGHT it up. Also can handle the ball pretty well.

Shaky D though, which makes me think Monty would not want him.

Anyone have any thoughts on him for a possible 2nd round pick?

Here are some BOMBS

Also, won the 3pt contest

This mock Draft has us drafting him

ETA: Should have posted in 2nd round thread my bad...A new thread is rare around here these days anyway.

Wouldn't be a bad pick that late in the draft.

Still. I hope we can cobble together some brilliant Demps-esque trade and grab Marshon Brooks.

If Marshon Brooks keeps rising at the current pace he'll be a top 20 pick. The guy that runs DraftExpress said the Kobe comparisons were more stylistic than substantive and said he'd be a lot more like Jordan Crawford, meaning an inefficient high volume scorer. I don't mind the high volume part, and his size might make Monty more comfortable with him than he was with Thornton, but we already have one inefficient scorer too many on the wing.

Agreed. I'm a much bigger fan of drafting a European player who will be more talented but more unpolished, and let him develop overseas for a year or two. Honestly, with the 45th overall pick in a weak draft class, what can we really expect to get? Not much, I'd say.

Thornton's offensive skill and QPons alleged NBA readiness and defensive skill couldn't crack the rotation. It's just very unlikely anyone the Hornets draft, even a purchased 1st rounder, will be a factor in winning this season or Paul's decision making heading into his contract year. Demps needs to draft for the long term and he's already said they plan to go BPA.

Has played big time opponents and done well, beat Tenn, UNC in his career and has also had big games against just about every big team they have played USC, Clemson. All this is off the top of my head, so I am sure they have played some other big name schools and he has excelled.

I didn't say his D was not good against the weak opponents, just that is supposed to be a knock on him at the next level.

He can become an inefficient player, but there's not much evidence of that based on his numbers. He's got a 58% true shooting percentage. And he's shooting nearly 60% on just his 2 pointers and gets to the foul line.

2011 NBA Draft: Combine's Shooting Results Say Andrew Goudelock Is A Better Shooter Than Jimmer Fredette

Just a little update on Drew

quote:

Goudelock, a 6-foot-3 point guard who looked very good at the Portsmouth Invitiatonal Tournament, made 19-of-25 from beyond the NBA's three-point arc in the spot-up shooting drill and then hit all 21 of his 15-to-18-foot jumpers in a 35-second moving shooting drill. His 19-of-25 performance beat out Fredette, Jimmy Butler and Charles Jenkins by one make while his perfect performance in the timed shooting drill was head and shoulders above anyone else that competed.
