1927 is probably the last time conditions were like this. So the current flood control system is being tested unlike any time in the past.

What this means is the USACE needs to continuously monitor the levees for a few more weeks - and we need to avoid any runaway barges that might take out a section of levee.

granted my knowledge of barge v levee is extremely limited after seeing what those loose barges did to the shitty old Kaiser dock I am not that worried about one getting away and hitting the levee. maybe if it hit the levee at the speed I have seen some going down the center of the river I would be more concerned.

True. But if doomsday scenarios are on the table, why stop at an eroded levee? That's SO played out, see the Darrow photo. Awesome, yet not terribly cataclysmic. I vote we turn Shaun onto the 73 scouring at the low sill, and the consequences of ORCS failure. That should perk up my work day!!!
