They will expect FEMA to pay for their motel stay after forcing them to evacuate to higher ground.

and remember that with hurricane season coming don't buy that new generator until a hurricane is heading our way and keep that receipt in a safe place.

Thankful and a lot of this was luck. If the basin wasn't literally bone dry from drought conditions, this could be a whole lot worse right now. Still, we aren't even nearly out of the woods yet either.

That's the angle I was thinking about. I know that my in-laws spent lots of money and time moving livestock, farm equipment, and possessions, even renting a house on higher ground for what looks like a non-event in their area (Concordia Parish). They are not the type of people to ever depend on FEMA or complain about the work, but I also know that there are plenty of folks in this entitlement era who will be looking for someone to pay for their efforts.
