Thought it would be relevant to basketball recruiting that our new coach is from SE LA. I would be surprised if we didn't schedule LSU for future basketball seasons

If I'm not mistaken, Kennedy took SELU to the big dance for the first (and only) time

Wasn't he on Kermit Davis' dirty coaching staff back in the day? Kennedy may not be dirty, but Davis had his issues.

It was the very start of his career and he was in a restricted coaching position, what they refer to as "operations" nowadays. I think it's telling that he said he learned a lot about what to do and what not to do from Kermit.

I believe he was an asst under Perry Clark at Tulane. Asst at NW St and HC at Centenary. Lots of LA ties besides the simple being born here. He will try and schedule LSU and Tulane and also be in here recruiting a good bit.

His quote in the 12th Man magazine "As you can tell now, I'm not from Texas. I'm from New Orleans.
Louisiana is going to be a part of Texas. I heard Coach Sherman make that comment and I believe in that.
I will recruit guys from Louisiana. "

As you can see, as big as Texas is A&M knows better players come from Louisiana.

Maybe he'll use his SELU connections in Hammond.

What's the score right now for recruits leaving La. for A&M in football?

aTm basketball has been quite successful staying in Texas not sure why he would want to change a proven winner.

The Louisiana pool of basketball talent has been pretty shallow the last three or four years. He may want to stick with Texas talent.

Tiger Authority, Turgeon was actually very poor at recruiting Texas. He was a better East Coast recruiter. We juarez hired Cyprien as an asst so our Tx recruiting should fare a lot better.

Another poster asked about football. To date Sherman hasn't signed a La recruit that LSU wanted. Maybe this year. Maybe

Haha WTF

Glenn Cyprien is who we hired. Very respected recruiter in CBB.

I think we are trying to hire the Bryan Tx HS coach now. He's a great coach and could recruit Houston well. His son is also J'Mychael Reese. One of the best seniors in the nation
