highway 451 might be fine for now. remember, that levee is made so short for a reason. i water gets high enough it is made to over top and fill in pomme de terre. after that, the levee along old highway will be blown if needed.
i passed behind the levee on friday and bayou des glaises was almost at it's banks in hamburg. and it has come out of it's banks close to simmesport. which caused the closure of the big bend/simmesport cutoff road.

Everything i saw today, it was still within its levees. I did see a ton of water coming from the fields in the backs of the houses though... Its creeping up...
