The primary way of fighting back against a sand boil is sandbagging.
Sandbagging a few feet around the site confines the water seeping through to form a small pond above the leak. That pond exerts downward force back on the levee, equalizing the hydraulic pressure and slowing or stopping the flow of water through the levee. It acts as a counterbalance with water on both sides of the levee.

So would the rise in water add more pressure or would it be the same?
