There won't be enough water coming down to threaten the bridge. If they opened ORCS and Morganza to their maximum capacity, maybe. But it's not expected to get close to that.

The water will rise within a couple of feet of the bridge. There is no worry about the initial force or anything along those lines.

If there is a worry, it would have to be such a volume of water and the currents flowing around the legs of the bridge and possibly erroding around the base of the legs. But I would think there isn't much of a worry there.....unless something wasn't done right in the 70's in Louisiana....and we all know we were running a squeaky clean ship back then
