just looked, 44 in the peak year of the steroid era.
Actually he hit 44 before he got big. He added 15-20 pounds of muscle the next season and everyone thought he was going to hit 60. His swing was changed and he sucked. I like to remember Hidalgo for his plus-plus arm in right, though.
