I'm pretty annoyed by the game, but I woke up with this expectation.

apologies for having severe, emotionally irrational reactions about a game that most likely killed off our chances at a first place finish. you're right, now is the time, out of any, that we should be level headed.
Hahaha touche. I take it back. My apologies.

here, ye beleaguered arsenal fans, enjoy these two images like a lollipop from the doctor that just gave you 13 injections:
Balotelli you beautiful, beautiful bastard

Life has very little meaning right now...

we're like the prisoners in Plato's allegory of the cave
well, Home Alone just started on HBO family. I think I'm going to sit here and quote along with the movie through streaking tears and gobfuls of Ben & Jerrys as I eat my feelings
if you want to keep wallowing in this dead animal of a season with me...I'm here for you.

We just stopped at Mcdonalds and they had an arcade room.
I played NASCAR on PS2. Man that game is fricking hard.

More like the literal expression of Marcelo's character in The Conformist. Our self-deception runs deep.

It'll be much like the end of The Return where the two brothers use a carpet of palm fronds to drag their dead father to the beach.

where is this mcdonalds? I wonder if it's near my semi-shitty hometown of sweet home Mobile, AL?

our pretentiously perceived film analogies will peel off in multitudes like the numerous apparitions of the dead prisoner in Un Prophete, reminding us constantly of our life's tragedies.

I think it's less of a Citizen outlet as it is the universal schadenfreude all non-United fans feel when things don't go their way

Or lead us to use a charged image, a la The White Ribbon, as a conceit to describe the tragedies that followed.
Maybe our love affair with the Arsenal is akin to Ford Madox Ford's The Good Solider, and when our children speak of our amity of Arsenal, they will begin their stories by reciting "This is the saddest story I have ever heard."

mayhaps it's the dissonance one feels, as in Camus' "The Myth of Sisyphus," as the boulder you've been pushing up the hill overcomes you and topples back down the hill, leaving you stranded to contemplate the identical journey you will make next season
or even the first 100 pages of Faulkner's The Sound and the Fury where a retarded man struggles to perceive with clarity the Compson's failing famlily structure, moaning in monosyllables and waiting for someone to change his soiled pants

sisyphus really is the best comparison for arsenal

yeah, I think we've distilled the correct analogy. Now to submit it to Brian Phillips/@runofplay so that he can write out another superior, highly literate expose that is as insightful as it is biting in its sarcasm.

the hopes and dreams of such a young squad with the periods of brilliance, while playing against the mold of the shiek/debt-based model creates the aura of positivity. the performance on the field leads to achievements near the top
...only to fail, time and time again
wash, rinse, repeat
