I think Manieri actually gets more like 700k.

Does the women's basketball team bring in that much revenue to merit that salary?

I don't think the women's basketball team has brought in 900k since they started playing.

That's a crazy amount of money, and Maneri gets 425???? WTF ?

My guess is that 425k will get you a third rate womens BB coach.

But Roger, look at how many more fans the baseball team has, not hating on her, just doesn't add up???

I agree, but in college athletics it isn't the fans or money a coach brings in that determines his/her salary. Like any business, the deciding factor is what it takes to bring in and retain a quality coach. The market sets the price.

I wonder how much WNBA coaches make, I bet it's a lot less than 900k.

people keep saying it costs money to retain a quality coach

there's a difference between hiring a quality coach and paying top dollar for a coach

I hope TAF is paying this.... The State is broke and they are cutting out/ merging universitites and we can give a cool mil to a women's basketball coach where they will NEVER be able to make enough money on tickets adn concessions to break even...
Gotta Love that Title IX.

It's obvious LSU thinks she is one of the best in the business.

and i'm saying there's a difference between paying for a quality coach and paying for a top dollar coach

we aren't paying 900,000 in hopes to hire only a quality coach

LSU is paying 900k because they believe she is a top coach in the profession and that is how much it took to lure her away from her old school. Going for less would mean getting less.

For the last time: The State gives LSU's Athletic Department ZERO money. Whereas the Athletic Department gives the University millions of dollars each year.

Summitt makes over $2 million a year. I'd say that's quite a bit more than the $900,000 given to Caldwell.

If you don't know what you are talking about, please don't feel the need to throw in your two cents.

That's old. She has signed an extension since then. Look at the date on your link.

It's between 1.6-2m depending on bonuses.
