Nice posts!
I'm considering going to Morgantown for the game next fall but I hear horror stories of the way you ppl treat opposing team fans. What say you?
Would you say it's best to fly into Pittsburgh then drive in from there?
I worked in Logan, WV for 2 months last summer and loved the mountains. Every day I drove in to work I was in awe.
My dad told me there was a POW museum in the northern part of the state... first he told me Charleston then later told me way up north. Is it in Morgantown? He was a POW at the hands of the Japs (fricking bastards!) for 3 1/2 years; he survived the Bataan Death March. I'd love to get pics of the museum to show him.

The band was awarded the coveted Sudler Award in 1997, which is the Heisman Trophy of marching bands and can only be awarded once. Only 27 schools have been awarded the trophy.

I cant lie, it can be a pretty bad place for visiting fans...Ive seen a lot more good than bad, but its the bad that sticks out...but i honestly think the behavior will be pretty good because word has gotten around to lots and lots of people about how good LSU fans were to us Mountaineers that traveled down in September...Those of us who made the trip have been VERY vocal about how good LSU fans were and are trying to make sure the favor is returned...
I spoke to an elderly Syracuse fan AFTER they beat us at home this past season, and he said he's been coming to Morgantown for Cuse football and bball games for 20 years, and has a great time every trip...the hospitality us fans showed the UConn team and fans 2 years ago made Randy Edsall tear up...literally...

If you are flying up the day of the game, then yes, flying into Pittsburgh and driving would be the best route. I-79 goes straight from Pittsburgh to Morgantown is about a 75 mile drive.
Personally I have only ever seen rare occurences of fans being treated badly at Mountaineer Field and they were back when we used to play Virginia Tech. The only other fanbases I have seen hardcore heckled are Marshall and Pittsburgh (but don't they deserve it? )

Everyone warned me not to go to the LSU game last year, because of the same type of "horror stories" about you guys.
After spending two glorious days warming up in NOLA, I attended the game in my WVU garb, and was thoroughly punished with kindness, hospitality, and great football talk.
I even told my wife about 45 min before the game that I was upset that I hadnt been tiger baited yet, but soon got my wish.
I have been to probably 60-70 games at Mountaineer Field and can count the bad incidents I have witnessed on one hand. Thats honestly why I ignored the haters, I figured you guys got a bad rap just like us, and I was right.
Cmon up, and bring some of that great cookin with ya!!

Now I just have to score a couple of trustworthy students to drive me and my car overnight to get there.
