Yes, UT statement said another "minor infraction." Please explain to me how having high school juniors over to his house for a barbeque is cheating. The man is a good coach, hard worker, passionate about building a winning program, and is human. He made a mistake. He didn't buy players, commit murder, and deal drugs. Some of you make mountains out of mole hills!

the fact that he broke such "minor"rules shows a lack of attention to detail, negligence, and overall stupidity

He did enough to get his arse fired after building a program that's enough of a red flag for me.

Because it's against the fricking rules.

quote:The same way any other improper recruiting contact is cheating. There are reasons for these rules, and whether you think they make sense or not -- and even whether they actually do make sense or not -- the choice is simple: you choose to follow the rules or you choose to cheat. There is no middle ground. He chose to cheat.
Please explain to me how having high school juniors over to his house for a barbeque is cheating.
And pointing out that some cheating is worse than other cheating does absolutely nothing to change the fact that it is all still cheating. The fact that theft is a less serious crime than murder does constitute a defense; it's still a crime.

Its cheating because the rules say it is. And if you believe it was a mistake there is something wrong with your head. It is right in line with giving free stuff (meals are included in this rule and it really amounts to bribary) to potential recruits. I have been going through the recruiting process first hand with my daughter and for anyone to think that it is a MISTAKE when coaches break the rules is just ridiculous. I don't want any coach for any program at LSU that has been fired because of NCAA infractions. That is just asking for trouble.
