I'd love him here. We'd at least not be a joke and he will play clean b/c he knows he'll be watched under a microscope.

I agree with your statement. That said, I can't get around the cheating issue. Pearl will be back in the spotlight sooner rather than later, and in another 7 years or so, he'll be back to coaching at a national university. But the time to hire him is not now.
On a side note, I personally hate the fact that we let a guy like Mike Anderson go to Mizzou while we kept Brady around.

Yes, just like Kelvin Sampson did when he left OU and went to IU.
