LSU played with a roster full of freshmen, one sophomore, and a junior transfer. Unless those freshmen were all McDonald's High School All-Americans, which they weren't, then they need time to grow as a team, and improve as individual players.

Louisiana has only produced 1 four star or better player in the last two years, Trent signed him, and you guys cry that he is over rated. Trent has gone out of state to sign several players, yet you guys cry that we should be hitting all four corners of the continent to bring in the top players in the country.

Nobody likes losing, and this team has lost a lot in the last two years. But turn on your tv this weekend and see how many junior and senior oriented teams are still playing. That's LSU goal for the next couple of years.

So, we have little talent now. And little talent going forward, and need some great recruits to compete. Correct?

Couldnt there be some validity to why we have not a better recruit or three, so that we would not be so outmanned.

Also, my opinion is not based on the loses, but the complete lack of focus or competitiveness. This is unacceptable. Could any coach win with this team consistently, probably not. Could alot of coaches at least compete. Probably so.

Giving him next year is fine with me, but I dont expect any real improvement, and will eat all the crow in the world.

All of you guys are the same. You argue in absolutes. Nobody is saying that. I do think, however, that a great majority would like to have seen Trent Johnson do a better job and do more with the time he's had so far. In my opinion (and a whole lot of other folks for that matter) - TJ has done a piss poor job of time and resource management with what little he has to work with, considering LSU has a nice spread to offer any recruit (a little basketball tradition, some big names in the past, NBA potential, decent facilities, a good school, etc.) I could understand if TJ was struggling at Southeastern but not LSU.

And you all argue that we want to see LSU go to the final four every year. Again, yeah it would be nice but no - nobody is saying that either.

Cut it out with the absolutes crap of trying to make an argument.

So first there is this:
quote:

Maybe it's because their state's high school talent sucks, and here's a news flash for the football people.... Louisiana basketball talent the last two years has sucked as well.
Then there is:

So the Louisiana talent the last couple of years has sucked so bad that -- even though making up only the freshman class -- their collective lack of talent made it impossible for LSU to climb out of 12th place in the SEC last year. And yet somehow in the next couple of years we're going to have success as a Junior and Senior oriented team -- when our Juniors and Seniors are from those same two years of complete lack of talent?

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense . . .
