Steve Lavin would be my choice along with Mike Anderson, but they're both pipe dreams. We missed our chance on Lavin and he ain't leaving Madison Square for Baton Rouge.

But either of those 2 coaches would turn us around overnight. No questions asked, no excuses.

Im not so sure that Lavin is looking to leave St. Johns after one year, and if he does LSU will have to pay him $2million +

st john's can recruit the Catholic schools of North Jersey, as well as NYC and Long Island.

for basketball, the NY metro area is the logical equivalent of Texas to football.

no chance to get Lavin to La.

I like him. He played on an undefeated class A team from Drake high, in west Marin, for his dad, which won Class A California and then there was a match game vs the AAA champ Mater Dei of L.A. Lavin's team won. That team were folk heroes in Marin. undefeated small school beats the traditional state champs from L.A. premier.

And he backed into 1 UCLA national championship using Harricks guys. He didnt do much at UCLA with his own guys.

I don't know who exactly but I'd be looking at coaches from the Big East, maybe a top assistant
