Banks advertises their shite as being safe for the 6.0 but don't take their word on it. As mentioned the burdon of proof is on the dealer to prove an aftermarket part has been the sole cause of the problem. With the 6.0 having known head stud issues Ford is kinda in a pickle since even stock trucks have been known to stretch studs.

Personally if I owned a 6.0 I'd leave the bitch alone unless I dropped the major coin to put aftermarket studs. Unless you can do it yourself you're looking about atleast $2-3000, maybe more. My father had an 07 6.0 that he added the full Banks kit too. Not the 6 Gun but the other kit that's more tow friendly. Intake, intercooler, exhaust, tuner, all that good stuff. The truck was never dogged, or run hard. Basically just used for hauling cattle trailer, boats, and his huge 5th wheel. About 10,000 miles after the install the truck began burning coolant. A sure sign of stretching head studs. Before it got too bad/fully blew he traded it in for a 6.4. It seems with the 6.0 you either get a good one or a bad one. A good friend of mine's father has a welding truck with a 6.0 and has 230,000 miles with zero issues. Seems to be hit or miss I guess.

I am actually looking at getting a used ford diesel.. in your opinion should i go with the 06-07 years with the 6.0 or go with an 08 with a 6.4... i have heard the fuel mileage is much better on the 6.0s and for some reason the prices are a lot better on the 06-07 models. But i absolutely love the inside of the 08...
