if he has to split even more carries with ford and ware, then yeah it could have. he had a career year this year. coming out after a season like that when the things that hurt his draft stock aren't things he can improve upon (speed, elusiveness) then he had nothing to gain by coming back. if he doesn't get drafted and is good enough to play in the league, he'll make it. it's not like he's a guy that had the potential to sign for a huge contract if he had waited a year.

jm3 is right. ridley is what he is. he's not going to improve his draft stock by playing another year. he's always gonna be a borderline draftable player, and playing another year comes an added risk of getting injured and never even havingthe chance to play pro ball.

Let's see if he gets drafted and revisit this at that time.
