Everything you just mentioned, minus the oversigning comment, is part of the business. If you have a sales rep at a company that isnt getting the job done and is worse than the competition, you aren't going to keep him around to be nice. I'm sure Miles would have loved to keep Crowton around. At least he gave him to find another job and did't just fire him like so many other schools do. I'd say he did as good of a job as any in that aspect.
As far as the oversigning, I wouldn't blame just Miles. It is wrong to do but every coach in the nation does it or else they fall behind. Thankfully, it has become a big issue and hopefully it will get better.

Thanks for reinforcing my points. Miles had to do all of the things I mentiond to keep the head coaching job at a competative SEC school.
He couldd have stayed at Okie State with his boys, recruited mostly three star recruits and won eight or nine gqmes a year for 20 years.
I don't think badly of Les. I just doubt he knew he would have to become the nutcutter that one has to be in this competive situatin.
He handled all of these situations with dignity and grace because he is a good man. I just doubt he took much pleasure from amy of it.
