No idea what they cost, but have you looked into a colt 1991? It's pretty much a 1911 with a different number stamped on it. I know a guy who had one (it got stolen) and he swears it was one of the better 1911 style guns he's fooled with.

I recently have started looking at the 1911's because you hear a ton about them and I want a new pistol but forgive my ignorance on the subject what is the draw of a 1911? I like the way they look, but it seems like there is a whole community that is in love with a 1911 and talk about other pistols as crap.
