*Need some suggestions from the true movie geek!

*Changed to show that I don't want suggestions just from "professionals".
My wife is going out of town, and that means it's time to eat bad and watch movies she doesn't want to see.
I've got the beer and food, now I need movies. I want same that you probably can't find at Blockbuster.
I need 3 or 4. The few that are on the list of possibilities.
La Haine
Valhalla Rising
Enter the Void
Animal Kingdon
In Bruges (haven't seen it yet)
I would love more suggestions or opinions on the ones here. Feel free to think way outside the box. Last time I did this I watched Torso, Visitor Q, The Quiet Earth, and Bird with the Crystal Plummage.
Go!

Yeah, ask him. The rest of us are ill informed idiots who don't read from multiple film sites.

The Return (2003) (Russian alternate title- Vozvrashchenie). Available on watch instantly.
Definitely check out Enter The Void. It's trippy.

Not a professional, just a few not as well known movies I enjoyed...
IP Man, very good action flick. Loosely based off the life of the the man who trained Bruce Lee. Loosely being the key word. I'd check that out if you want an action/martial arts film. Subtitled, but still has some comic relief.
Exit Through the Gift Shop. Best documentary of 2010 IMO. Has been talked about to nausea around here, but definitely worth a watch if you haven't yet.
The Lady Vanishes, an early Hitchcock film that's on instant. Mid 1930's I think. One of Hitchcocks more underrated films if you want a classic mystery.

Being more serious, In Bruges I would highly recommend. Enjoyed Oldboy as well. Will continue to post if I think anymore.

Ravenous dude. It's the greatest film no one has ever seen. Fits this category perfectly.
I would also add Chopper to the above list, Eric Bana is great.

Seen it. Guy Pearce. Didn't think much of it, but it's been a while. Maybe I'll give it a try, but not this weekend.
Seen Chopper as well. Liked it okay.

Yes, but it's a fantastic comedy if you're under the influence.

In Bruges
In Bruges isn't good. And Oldboy is good if you can find the version w/ subtitles because if not the voice-overs will ruin it for you.

Seen Oldboy, with subs.
I still rent. Vulcan video here in Austin is great. Lots of foreign/cult/Indy/hard to find films. Have rented the foreign discs of Miike's films for instance.

Add The Brood, Naked Lunch, and Videodrome
Go with Cronenberg all weekend. One of the more underrated directors.

Yeah, I've seen all of Cronenberg's stuff. I like him, but don't like Lynch. I think you, I, and others have been involved in that discussion on here before.

Not sure I want these, but they are apparently pretty disturbing.
Begotten
Martyrs
The baby (check out the premise for this one!)
Anyone know anything about these?
Tenebrae
Liquid Sky
And I remembered another I want to put on my definite list of possibilities.. La Haine
