Back when I had my Carbon Matrix. It's since been replaced with a Carbon Element.

A few from North Dakota last month. Theodore Roosevelt National Park gets very few visitors and is interesting to explore. It's in the Bakken, though, and it's just crazy in that area with all the oil exploration.

Nice pix! Never been to that area before, I opted for a couple other sites and another route before when traveling near.

Just got back to JNU, more pix of the weekend in Sitka. Weather kept us off the water somewhat, since it's on the outer coast. Did a little hiking.
This lighthouse on an island is for sale for about $850,000. If I could fins someone to lend me that kind of money, it would be my new B&B
Juvenile Bald Eagle
Cool pic. Fisherman watches the Ak State Ferry MV Fairweather arrive from Juneau
Sea lion just in front of the docking ferry

It's been great since I've been back.
We are spending the day on the Columbia at Prescott beach. 91 degrees here. Water is nice as well as the view of Mt. Hood and Mt. St. Helens (not in pic). Can see about 50 boats salmon fishing, wish I was.

Yeah, it's fall here, not that we had much of a summer. Termination dust on the higher peaks already (second time) which is early. People pulling their boats from the harbors already.

Went for a hike in the gorge yesterday. My favorite view there.

But you aren't kayaking
No shots on the water? Btw, I'm jelly.

I have some more shots on my laptop at home. We were taking a break on one of the islands. The wind was so bad that day that we could barely make it to the islands. Still some pretty bad arse scenery.

Got a friend who has several condos on the islands and one of them has some stunning scenery. I can only take so much of Hawaii though.

Yea.. We rented a condo on Waikiki for 8 days. It was really cool getting to see all the different beaches, but I wish we would have went to some of the other less populated islands. I hear they have better scenery and less tourist traps.

Definitely. The more secluded and less populated (by tourists) areas are worth it. Lanai and Molokai are good examples

Maybe we can make add that to the list for the next trip. I was with the wife and she was more concerned about tanning and shopping than scenery

View of Diamond peak and Crescent lake from our camp.
Summit of Diamond Peak. Crescent lake on the left, Summit lake on the right. Summit lake is where our hike originated.
Mt. Thielsen

Big lake and Mt. Washington. Beautiful day for a climb.

Clouds lifted for a bit and the snow line has dropped dramatically. Not sure if I have seen it this low, this early in the fall. Went looking for ducks on the wetlands, but didn't find any close enough to take a shot at.
Saw a few goats on the lower regions of the mountains, the early snows may be chasing them down. It's that time of year when the temps start to drop, bears ready for hibernate, leaves turn color and snow comes down the mountains. The best time of the year... Maybe we will get a good northern lights show tonight.
