not no, but hell no! the guys a crook. we don't need someone like that representing LSU.

This....

I'm all for giving people a second chance, but given the condition LSU is in (an elite national progam expected to compete for national titles), I don't want to be the one to give Mumme his "second" chance. In addition, the fact that Mumme's in relative coaching obscurity (out of coaching entirely for 1 1/2 years , 2 years at Southeastern, fired after 3 seasons at New Mexico State and now 3 seasons coaching at McMurray University in Abilene, TX) suggests that maybe he's been kinda "blackballed."

Mumme doesn't fit at LSU. Just doesn't. After a while, you get a feel for who would represent LSU well and co-exist with others. We'd be taking a chance with Mumme or Leach as OC's. It would be like a decade ago or two, hiring Jackie Sherill to be the HC. Some guys just aren't meant to be Tigers.

KUNKA...my mea culpa

As I drove home, a cooler head began to prevail. I took issue with you calling me ignorant in response to what I feel is a reasonable assumption (that Mumme and Leach are both pass-first) and responded in kind but more vehemently. For that I am sorry.

Honestly, I would welcome the opportunity to have a back and forth discussion with someone who actually knows what he or she is talking about but I allowed the my responses to devolve into name-calling, etc. I need to do a better job with my posts in not resorting to name-calling, a manifestation of my frustrations with the disfunction of the offense and the lack of any ability for this staff to identify clear problems and find solutions for them.

I do hope, though, that if Les does make a change at OC then he finds someone who shares his offensive philosophy, which, from what I can tell, is generally balanced with a slight lean towards favoring the run. Or someone who can complement his philosophy.

Anyways, I hope you were not too offended by my rude reference to you being ignorant and accept this apology.
