Seriously maybe Les just needs to go then, 8 win seasons shouldn't be acceptable here, and 9 win seasons these days when you play 13 is mediocre

I think Miles meant that people shouldn't freak out due to an occasional 8-win season.

8 or 9 wins IS lukewarm. Not saying its horrible, but to cry that it got a lukewarm reception....wow.

He isn't saying 8 wins consistently is acceptable, he is saying that in the midst of some NC runs if we have the occasional 8 win season he shouldn't be fired. I think this is ok as long as we are very good in most seasons. Down years are going to happen just ask Florida.

fricking this, especially when it seems every year another SEC team will have 12-13

It's not mediocre when you play 6-7 ranked teams every year. In the SEC, you will have ups and downs, depending on injuries, talent development, recruiting, etc...

When you're one of the top paid coaches in the country, 8-9 wins at LSU should not be satisfactory in anything but an isolated context.

Using the above:

Bama has been "mediocre" 7 of last 11 years
Auburn 8 of last 11
Ga. 5 of last 11
Fla. 6 of 11
So. Carol 11 of 11
LSU 5 of 11
So. Cal 5 of 11

Throwing the "mediocre" tag for any team not winning 10 games when teams play in the best conference college football has to offer, is being blind to the excellence of the SEC. imo

It would equate to saying any ACC basketball team not winning 20 games a season is "mediocre".
