To report an NCAA violation:
Determine for sure if a violation occurred. Often the NCAAs rules are confusing and varied. Make certain that in fact a rules violation occurred by reading the NCAA rules and guidelines information. No one wants to report false information.
Ascertain what type of rule violation occurred. The first type is a major violation, which is a violation that gives a member institution an extensive recruiting or competitive advantage. The other type is the secondary violation, which is a rules violation that gives a member institution a limited recruiting or competitive advantage.
Decide whom to report the rules violation to. A person may report the violation to the schools conference rules commission, the NCAA directly or the offending schools compliance office.
Collect as much documentation as possible on the NCAA rules violation.
Include the following information in the report: The date of the violation, people that were involved in the action, a detailed description of the violation, and the reasoning behind the violation, if available.
