oh, he called the same game he did all season.

That was nowhere near any gameplan we have had all year. Instead of saying we were going to simplify the offense, we actually did. We lined up 2 TE, I form and pounded for 5 yards a pop. And to my astonishment, we didn't go away from what was working. We took away JJ's carries and gave them to Ware with great success. We minimized the read option. And since we pounded the hell out of the ball, we were able to set up the PA to our big fast WRs downfield.

Nothing of that game screamed Gary Crowton at all.

Are we sure that CGC called the game offensively?

I knew we would do well on offense. Understand, Crowton and the offense he has is very complicated, especially to jj (qb) But when you have 40 days to desing plays and go over them for weeks with JJ, they work well.

The real problem is when you only have one week in the SEC to work on offense for the next game. JJ doesn't have the time to absorb it all and fully understand all his reads, audibles, etc Hence all the disarray many times throughout the year.

Every game this season we have run the option, we did in this game. We ran the zone read, we did in this game. We ran the t.e./pro set/power I, we did in this game. We ran the quick slant, we did in this game. we attempted a couple of deep balls, we executed it in this game and u.n.c.. it was the same offense.

The difference was, the wr's caught the balls, j.j. threw "some" accurate balls (first two series he didn't). the run game was working due to the offensive line blocking, not because the play wasn't called before.

j.j. did a better job with ball fakes. he did a better job of scrambling for first downs on third and long to keep drives alive. bottom line he played better.

did we have a few additional "wrinkles", yes. however, most of the offense was the same as all year. we just ran it better.

florida, bama, and atm, were all top defenses that we executed against. we just didn't call different plays in those games. j lee played well at florida, jefferson played well against bama, ole miss, and atm.

i found it interesting that d. johnson was saying how difficult it was to defend the lsu offense. he said this all game long. he said that it is so multiple and there are so many things to prepare for that it is very difficult for another team to defend. what would he know, he is only a all pro and more likely than not hall of fame full back.
