I think so.

And I also think, Miles was never offered the job in 2007, just Mich kicking the tires, and I've said so here for years.

As a member of GIC, I've seen his body language when asked about 'momma calling him home' many a time..his response though always PC verbally..always said 'gone pecan' physically and in delayed timing reaching for the right PC response in words.

The timing has never been better for him to go if he were to. He has a skin-on-the-wall now, Mich appears to be now offering equal salary unlike in the past(and before Miles got fattened up these last few years for his family's future), he can go where he will not be questioned too hard, regardless of results, for at least 4 to 5 years.

Despite the LSU success, butting heads with Saban, Petrino, Chizik, Mullen, Nutt, Richt, SOS, Muschamp, etc..much tougher than what the Big-10 brings in Tressell, Bielema, Ferentz, Dantonio, Fitzgerald, JoePa, etc..

Not in that the HCs are any better, but that Michigan when recovered properly to it's rightful place, has but OSU and maybe PSU as a true recruiting peer and in overall talent...where as the SEC goes much deeper and far more balanced in depth.

The shame of it if here were he to leave now, is that with this season, he is just finally beginning to escape Saban's shadows to the masses. As despite each HC's BCS title at LSU, Miles win pct and multi 11 win marks, are something to differentiate vs Saban's program rebuilding.

people keep saying this and i don't know why. first off, no coach gets 5 years to turn around a program. 4? MAYBE, but not in muchigans case they have been losing since carr stepped down, they will be restless in 2 but he will get 3.

the timing is bad in that sense and that he has the wrong players for his type of scheme the whole program is a clusterfrick, he is getting old etc.

He is taking a big risk going there if he chooses

MaMa be damned.

I think LM loves LSU, his team, the fans, Baton Rouge so he wants to go about it the right way this time. The deal is done behind the scenes, let him gather with his team one last time and be the one to tell them, then release it to the media. Of course with this day in age, we will find out here probably around the time the meeting with players goes down, if it takes that long. I think Les realizes the longer he waits to make a decision, the more he hurts each school with recruiting/looking for a replacement, so he will get it over quickly.
