I've done a lot of La and south Texas and while harvesting a deer is no big deal in Texas, killing a big one is. None of the places we leased in Tx were game fenced but we tried to manage them and on the one in Junction we had more 8 pts than you could shake a stick at. But once they got over 3 years old, poof... you'll never see them again in daylight without seriously hunting your arse off.

Those who say South Texas hunting isn't hunting don't know what they're talking about or are just jealous. It's just different.

Paying for a trophy like that though... nah. Wouldn't mean anything to me then.
