Email address trouble

I'm trying to change my email address from my paws email. I enter the new address, but it doesn't send me a confirmation email, and when I log back in, it's still my paws address. Am I just retarded? What am I doing wrong?

Gmail. I asked if it was ok in an earlier thread. General consensus seemed to be that it's ok to change to a gmail account, you just can't start a profile with a gmail account. I haven't gotten any email regarding anything having to do with email addresses yet, and I'm coming up on the expiration date of my paws email address.
