"far less guilty, yet still the focus of the oversigning piece" would be a better way to describe it. i'm fine with the sec catching crap on this, but for saban and bama to not be mentioned at all is ridiculous.

yes, miles screwed up by assuming there's no way all 27 would be academically qualified, thus he should have stated up-front there's a greyshirt possibility. would recruits walk is the question.

regarding garrett, i find it hard to believe the coaching staff didn't communicate with him he had to change his ways, or else...(doesn't seem consistent with all we've heard about the program miles runs). if they didn't warn him, then i agree with you - he is guilty. if warnings were made and garrett still slacked, overate, kept a poor attitude, etc., then showing him the door is aok with me.

taking care of someone also includes being tough when they refuse to change their wrongful ways.
