Coastal Carolina will be a tournament team.
Eh, no they won't. They weren't that great at all. UNC-Asheville should win their conference. But even if they do make the tournament, it's just from the automatic bid from an incredibly bad conference. LSU should beat teams like that.
That being said, before last night's game, I did think this team was improving on a game-by-game basis, despite my personal belief that Trent Johnson is a below-average coach. However, they just don't have the talent or experience to be much of a threat in the SEC this year.
As for the person saying they will be no worse than a 5 seed in the tournament next year, you are nuts. Though the 2011-2012 team should be significantly improved, odds are they still won't make the NCAA Tournament.
Now, the 2012-2013 team with a more experienced Stringer and Turner, plus O'Bryant and hopefully freshman phenom Ricardo Gathers, has the potential to not only make the NCAA tournament, but make a deep run.
I am looking forward to watching this team grow and improve the rest of this season and in the next few years.
