True, but take for instance Stoops at OU. Say Florida offred him at 3 mil a year. You don't think that OU would counter that? Of course they would, and it isn't like UF is head and shoulders above OU.

Now jumping from someplace like Syracuse to Florida would be another story, but typically something like that wouldn't be considered a "homerun" hire in the first place unless the guy was some superstud coach. And guess what, superstud coaches at small programs don't always transition well to big time jobs (see Gill, Turner for further reading).

Why would they offer him less than what he makes now?
