OK, I admit it I'm hooked big time. I did this last night stayed up until 1 a.m. changing the colors. I'm using Paintnet. Got a couple of questions:
1. as I was painting with the brush I seem to have some jagged edges around his shirt sleeve, and I couldn't get the line on his shoulder to work, so I left it out, is there something I can use to smooth out the look?
2. I want to put the VT logo on his hat...I'm guessing I need to use another layer for that, but since I have yet to try the layering thingy I don't want to mess this up!!

I was going to give some advice in your banhammer thread yesterday but I decided I would let you try and figure some things out on your own.

Using paint.net, do you see the eye-drop shaped tool? That selects colors. So I would grab your red on the hat and use the Paint brush tool to make it all one color. Carefully. Zoom in and take your time. You will learn how to work quickly with practice but for now, take the time and do it slowly but correctly.

To fix his shoulder, take that eye-drop again and choose the orange. Zoom on that section. Use the line tool. Draw an orange line along that black. After you draw the straight line, it will have 4 dots. You can drag these to curve the line to match that edge. These curved lines are how I edit much of my vectors. Now you know why each image takes so long.

As I've said before, Paint.net is my program of choice. If there is something specific about the tools, ask.
