but i was just wondering if you have ever thought about how football players are treated in BR?

well I dont have to really think about it. ive seen much worse players than Ridley get benefits first hand

i was joking about his haircut and tattoo.

it doesnt sound like he is hurting for money though. a 5th/6th.7th rd contract likely wont affect his family much

Thanks to the generosity of TE boosters.

Do you know this for a fact? BC I know the truth about both him and Chad.

Close, neither one is a teacher. Where do yo get this information that you state as fact.

I have a good friend that graduated a year before him that I just called to confirm this. Specifically he said:
"Stevan was always very well-spoken, had nice clothes, and a decent car. He was not rich, but was certainly not poor."

Are you trying to say this isn't true?

ETA:

this also brings into play one's definition of poor. By "poor" I mean food stamps and project housing.

I wasn't positive on that. I had just heard that. Thats why I wrote "I believe" at the end.

First of all, we all know that Natchez is full of millionaires who only drive the finest cars and wear the finest threads. Seriously, I know the family well and they are not poor, and he was raised well thanks to Ms. Carolyn but don't make assumptions based on what your friend tells you about him bc none of those factor into him making the decision to fore go his senior season at LSU. Please go flame somewhere else.

I didn't see anything from Ridley that makes me think he would be a good back in the NFL. He has power but most NFL runners have power and he is not fast.

I agree. I think he would be a backup in the league at best.

50-50 he'll go pro and I think he will. This stuff about his finances and family are out of place and really have nothing to do about his decision. Most of the key points have been raised, but the one to stress the most is his talent to see the field and ability to make quick cuts. Quickness in the NFL is far more important than speed. How often do you see long runs game in and game out ??? Also he has excellent hands, a talent that was rarely utilized at LSU. I think he will enter the draft. I agree that he'll be a 5th-6th rounder.

They didnt really stack the box this year.

We were played pretty straight up. Our running game nor our passing game scared anyone.

People keep saying "they stacked the box" werent paying much attention.

I dont think Ridley breaks enough long runs to average more than 5.0 YPC or so. Anything under 5 is fairly average for college football.

Most defenses were singularly focused on stopping the run against us.

If he enters and has a good combine he goes 3rd to 4th round at the latest imo. NFL teams are coveting big backs. At 6 foot and 230 lbs, with his quickness, lateral movement and power he has all the measurables. Top end speed is very over-rated and Ridleys speed is very under-rated. No way he can be considered slow. His quickness to hit the hole is plenty fast.

Completely agree. He has, in my opinion, no reason to stay to 1)Prove his abilities,2) Get drafted higher or 3) learn more. Just as he surprised most Ranters with a sterling 2010 season ( not I), he will surprise most with a quality NFL career.

At best? Meaning that he might not stick on a roster?

Ridley is outstanding in special teams coverage (a critical skill for a backup RB to have), so I don't think there's any question that he's have a successful NFL career.
