Rinse oysters until the water runs clear...and then some.

Add salt to oysters and ice. Let soak for about an hour or two and shuck. The brine makes all the difference.

Im assuming the oysters are still alive and they will clean themselves out??

I love oysters, but hate getting that grit in my mouth. It seams that there is still sand or something in the oyster when i chomp down on a ball of sand. Sucks.

Thanks for the info.

Yes. Put them in an ice chest...rinse the shite out of them. Cover them with clear water and add the salt and ice. I forgot to make it clear that they are covered in water.

But they clean themselves out...soak up the salt water and get plump and full. No dried up, shriveled oyster. Salty, juicy, and delicious.

Just add your favorite hot sauce and its on. Damn...now I have to go to Tony's and get a sack.
