i was thinking a french burgundy/ pinot noir would go nicely with the turkey. may throw in a few bottles of something a little heartier like a cab or red blend.

for white i was thinking a stainless chard or something clean and crisp. i am heading to the store tonight after work.

Brewer-Clifton 2008 Pinot Noir Santa Rita Hills
Here's an update on this wine.

In spite of the fact that I had been assured (by Robert Parker's "Wine Advocate" website, no less) that this wine was "drinking nicely," in fact it was no where near being ready to drink. And I decanted it two hours ahead of time. So, about 30 minutes before dinner time I searched thorough my wine fridge and grabbed a bottle of the 2006 Hartley-Ostini Hitching Post Pinot Noir Rio Vista Vineyard and a bottle of the 2008 Chalone Vineyards Chardonnay from Monterey. Both wines were good and my guests seemed pleased. By last night the Brewer-Clifton pinot was drinking okay, but it was simply too soon to open it. I think I have about 4-5 more bottles of that particular wine and they will sit right where they are for a couple of years.

I also have 3 bottles of the 2007 Brewer-Clifton Cargasacchi Vineyard Pinot Noir and I'm guessing that they won't be ready for at least 3-4 more years.
