quote:You do realize that Ford is the smallest of the running backs with Gore playing slot receiver? He is 5'10" - 202 lbs and can't block SEC linebackers. He is a very good runner but he has plenty to work on before he can play as an every down back. Ridley is the best of the backs and all of the current underclassmen look promising.
Ford has the quickest feet of the bigger backs.

Some of you people are really off base, your just a fan and what you see in games...Period! Who is the best Ridley, Ford, Ware, or for that matter Hillard coming in. Have any of you seen Hillard play..probably not.I have followed Ford, I am not defending him; but with his work ethic , no one will touch him and everybody on the LSU team will tell you. Please tell me how can a 5'10 207 plus back be second strongest guy on the team pound for pound. When Ford was a Soph in high school he was just another average back and in two years he changed that due to his work ethic...His Junior year when he broke his collar bone, he still played another quarter and half; before the coach pulled him. Now that's HEART! Fans time will tell...then you can talk it up about him, but in my opinion they are all very good backs.
