You're right, been so long since an SEC champ played in the Sugar Bowl, I forgot lol. Sugar Bowl picks who they want if the champ isn't available.

If Auburn loses and LSU wins out, we'd be the higher-ranked team, and again, the Sugar Bowl would pick us.

Pretty sure the SEC champ gets an automatic bid to the Sugar Bowl.

Wrong. If the SEC champ team does not make it to the national title game the Sugar Bowl will take the SEC champion regardless of ranking.
