First, to OBUDan, LSU's historical ranking is not relevant to the issue of whether we've had elite-level talent, resources, etc over the past decade.
I honestly don't see how it's relevant to anything. That's like Bama talking about championships from way back in the day. It's fine for them to reflect on that, but it doesn't say much about their program today.

quote:

It was great to beat Bama and Queen Saban, however Bama is down this year and way over rated.

That is flat-out untrue. Bama beat Penn State, Florida, and Tennessee by 3, 4, and 5 TDs respectively. They may be down from last year, but they are still at the very top of college football and good enough to beat anyone they play.

Penn State has a great tradition however it aint so happy in happy valley this year! Gators lost at home to Miss St, and who ever else doesn't really matter. They are not what they were the last couple of year no matter how you scream and shout.

Your post title says "LSU is not and never has been elite"

Someone disputes this with facts and you say:
quote:

LSU's historical ranking is not relevant to the issue of whether we've had elite-level talent, resources, etc over the past decade.

Make up your mind. Are we talking "elite" program or "elite-level talent, resources, etc" Are we talking "never has been" or "over the past decade".

You don't get to just change your premise because the facts dispute it!
