Eh as far as it happening again. It's probably one of two things. Either you didn't get the screws tightened down tight enough (probably not it) or you didn't get enough of the old thermal paste off. Make sure when you clean the paste of the processors you get every bit of it off you can. I used a Q-tip and alcohol to get most of it off then used a sharp piece of plastic to scratch off all the paste stuck on there I couldn't get off with alcohol.
You still have cracks in the paste between the processors and the heat sinks. Put down new thermal paste and get all the old off and you should be fine.

I think i did a fairly decent job on cleaning it off. Is it possible i put too much or too little paste back on? The paste i used was about 3 or 4 years old. Been sitting in my desk... Could that have been the problem? It was sealed in plastic but it did seem pretty thick when i squeezed it out...
